Our Staff

Michael Paxson: Michael is the CNMA’s new executive director. He has spent 30+ years working in the hospitality/restaurant industry in Texas including working as a Sous Chef at the four star rated Café Pacific in Dallas, where he cooked for many celebrities and one or two U.S. Presidents. He was the catering director and food service manager for Neiman Marcus in Dallas. More recently he has been the Operations Manager for Talon Wine Brands in Palisade, responsible for the day to day operations for Talon Winery, St. Kathryn Cellars and the Meadery of the Rockies. Michael and his family have been living for almost 8 years in Grand Junction, the hometown of his wife, Terri. They have two awesome boys, MacGregor 15 and Beckett 12, and all enjoy spending time together whether it be biking, hiking, skiing or spending time at the family hideout in Lake City, high in the San Juan Mountains. In their spare time, Michael and Terri have been renovating and flipping houses for the past 20 years.

Linda Saturno: Linda is originally from Connecticut, but spent sixteen years living on the east coast of Florida. She relocated to Colorado last May and joined the CNMA staff in September as Office Manager and Buyer. When asked if she is enjoying Colorado and working at Colorado National Monument, she stated: “I am amazed every day by the beauty here in Colorado and especially at the Monument. It’s breathtaking. Working at CNMA in the Visitor Center with the NPS staff is truly a privilege. I have the best coworkers ever.” Linda lives in Grand Junction with her Puggle, Oliver and Calico cat, Callie.

Desirée Drane-Davison: Desirée is the Membership Coordinator for CNMA. From Gillette, Wyoming she has worked as a seasonal in fee collection and interpretation at Devils Tower NM, Wind Cave NP, Jewel Cave NM, and Colorado NM. She’s worked for Devils Tower Natural History Association and Mount Rushmore Memorial Society. Along the way, as she was looking for permanent job, she found and married COLM’s current Chief Ranger, Mark Davison. Desirée and Mark have also been at Capulin Volcano NM and Scotts Bluff NM. During her time in Scottsbluff, Desirée worked as a zookeeper, which she says “was very similar to being a wife, mother, and former park ranger.” The Davison family came to Colorado National Monument in June 2012. They have two daughters: Skye who lives in Scottsbluff, NE and Shaye who is a high school junior; a Chihuahua/Jack Russell named Tucker, a Great Pyrenees named Ruger, and a cat who occasionally answers to Thomas O’Malley.

Terri Ahern: Terri is the Spring and Fall Walks & Talks Coordinator. Terri first started as a front desk volunteer and trail ambassador for the Monument in May of 2006, which quickly morphed into a paid position with CNMA a month later. She is a retired nurse, who continues to remain active on the Continuing Medical Education Committee at St Mary’s Hospital. Terri and her husband Rick lived in the Denver metro area for most of their lives, and moved to Grand Junction in 2000 when they were both able to secure job transfers. They enjoy the morning sunlight on the Monument and the evening light on the Book Cliffs and all the recreational opportunities in every direction from their home in the Redlands. They enjoy hiking, camping and photography and spend much of their free time enjoying visits to National Parks. They are usually owned by at least one cat and are currently offering food, water, shelter, space, fun and games with lots of cat toys to Pixie.

Carol Dominguez: Carol begins her fourth summer working as a Bookstore Sales Associate for CNMA. Originally from the New Mexico-Texas border, she graduated from New Mexico State University and taught high school for 8 years in that area. She then lived for 10 years in San Diego before moving to Montrose. She worked for Western National Parks Association (WNPA) for 18 years and was the association manager at Black Canyon National Park for 10 years. Three years ago she retired from WNPA and moved to Grand Junction to be closer to her family. She is widowed and had 3 grown daughters and 4 grand kids.

John Lintott: John is the Art Coordinator for CNMA. He is a landscape painter, and for nearly 8 years, he and his family owned an art gallery and frame shop in downtown Grand Junction. He has been involved in the art community since he moved here from Fort Collins in 2001. You may find him painting on the VC back porch on Fridays and in other locations in the park, or at the front desk helping visitors. John and his wife Emily, a school teacher, are the happy parents of three daughters.
